Innovate Today, Lead Tomorrow

At CISF, our commitment is to “Innovate Today, Lead Tomorrow.” In my classrooms, this is more than a tagline - it’s our daily blueprint for learning.

This space showcases that philosophy in action, demonstrating how nurturing curiosity and hands-on problem-solving today cultivates the confident leaders of tomorrow.

Explore the projects, the process, and the proof that when we create spaces for students to innovate, they truly learn to lead.

Leading our School's First Innovation Fair

Innovation is about turning ideas into action. This year, I had the privilege of leading the inaugural CIS Innovation Fair, collaborating with every class teacher to develop and showcase truly innovative student projects. The journey was as rewarding as the event itself.

Behind-the-Scenes at Our School's First Innovation Fair!

Beyond proud to share that my Grade 6 class won the Innovation Award for Best Booth at our school's first-ever Innovation Fair, which I had the honour of leading!

Our project was a deep dive into forces, load, and structural engineering through bridge building. My students didn't just learn the theory - they became engineers. Their winning booth featured an incredible array of working models: classic truss bridges, elegant suspension bridges, innovative hydraulic lift bridges, sturdy arch bridges, and fundamental beam bridges.

Grade 6 Science: Where Learning Feels Like Discovery

Ever wonder what happens when learning is disguised as pure fun? Step inside our Grade 6 science class.

This reel is a celebration of a year where curiosity was our curriculum and “aha!” moments were our daily reward. The best part? The laughter and exclamations of “This is so cool!” that filled our room. My students were so immersed in the thrill of exploration, they almost didn’t realize just how much they were learning.

This is proof that when you make learning hands-on, collaborative, and genuinely fun, deep understanding follows naturally.

Design, STEAM, TedEd Club Presentations

Student presentations are vital for true assessment and deep reflection-they let me see the thinking behind the knowledge. But my reality is this: 80% of my students are English Language Learners. This transforms the entire challenge.

The fear of public speaking is magnified by the fear of making mistakes in a new language. My focus must shift from just content to also include language growth, confidence, and communication. It’s about creating a safe space where bravery is celebrated and every attempt is a victory. You'll see the incredible courage it takes for a student to present in their second or third language.
